Joe Tison, CFP®, MBA

Personal CFO

Joe Tison was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of South Florida and spent four years working on complex environmental challenges across the state. During this time, Joe played a key role in investigating and mitigating contamination from petroleum and industrial solvents, with a focus on Modified Active Gas Sampling and the design, installation, and operation of Soil Vapor Extraction systems. He was also involved in early-stage assessments of emerging contaminants such as PFAS (“forever chemicals”), helping evaluate their impact on groundwater and soil systems.

Joe transitioned into the financial services industry after developing a strong interest in finance during his MBA studies at the University of South Florida. He went on to gain experience at several well-established financial institutions, working with individuals and business owners navigating increasingly complex financial decisions. In 2025, Joe earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation, further reinforcing his commitment to thoughtful advice.

Today, Joe works closely with business owners at various stages of their journey- from active operators to those preparing for or adjusting to life after an exit. His work emphasizes tax efficiency, investment strategy, and long-term family objectives. He helps clients think clearly through major transitions and structure decisions in a way that supports both financial outcomes and lifestyle goals.

Joe also enjoys working with retirees, helping them create sustainable income strategies and gain clarity around their financial future.

Outside of work, Joe spends time with his wife, Toni, and their daughter, Adrienne. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys bowhunting, fishing, and supporting wildlife and natural land conservation.
